Proceed back the hallway and down a flight of stairs on the left. The Map Room is at the far end of the hallway on the left side.
Normally, there are parking spots in a public lot reached by going west in the alley between the courthouse and law enforcement/jail complex or by entering off of West Second Street.

The County Engineer is charged by the Ohio Revised Code with maintaining property map records for all properties in the county, but what is available here goes far beyond just those extremely important records.
The Map Room is home to property maps, plat maps, county aerial photos, and many other types of maps and records. Some of these documents date back to before the founding of Ross County on August 20, 1798, five years before Ohio received statehood in 1803.
Original research on many properties from this portion of the old Northwest Territory starts right here in Ross County among the Engineer's Map Room, the Recorder's Office and the Probate Court Archives.
The Staff, consisting of Melinda Oney and Patrick Morrissey, brings many years of experience in this field to the job. They are not only experienced, but also extremely knowledgeable and accommodating when working with the public and their request for information or help.
